Penncrest Invitational 2018 (Girls)

Congratulation to the Girls XC team for a fine showing at the Penncrest Invite. Both Varsity and JV won their divisions and many individuals took home hardware. You can find complete results HERE.

Strath Haven, Garnet Valley, HHS – League Meet #3, Sept. 20, 2018

The weather was finally kind to us, and we had a nice day to run on Thursday at Coopertown. The boys and girls teams both fought hard. The boys team placed seven in the top seven, with numerous PR’s and winner Michael Donnelly running an impressive 15:35.  Thanks to all the parents who helped out, thanks to Jim Jensen for providing FAT timing, and thanks to all of our student-athletes. Results are HERE.  Go Fords! (Photo credit: Pam Fingerhut)

League Race #2 vs. Radnor and Upper Darby, Sept. 12, 2018

It was very wet at Naylor’s Run Park but the Fords ran tough. We ran through a creek. We ran on a sidewalk for a long stretch. We ran up and down a ‘wood-chip trail’ that was more like a sink-in-the-deep-mud trail. The girls ran through heavy rain.

Both the boys and girls came away victorious. The girls placed 12 in the top 17, the boys placed 7 in the top 9. The results of both races can be found HERE. Big thanks to the many parents who came out and braved the elements, cheering our courageous (and sopping wet) harriers on.

The most important ‘thank you’ goes to our student-athletes, who are nothing short of amazing. Go Fords.

Unionville Race and Weekend Training

It was wet in Unionville. It was muddy, sloppy, and slippery. One of the buses randomly left for a while. So we had our challenges. Still, we had a lot of outstanding performances and everyone ran tough in the mud. Michael Donnelly had fastest time of the day for our boys, and Connie Katcavage, coming off an injury, was the top girl. The results are HERE.  We will talk more about the race at practice on Tuesday.

Please train today and tomorrow (Sunday and Monday-holiday). Training Cycle #2 — the most important cycle of the season — has commenced. You can find the workouts HERE.

If you have photos or video from the race, please share with us!

Next race is the league meet on Wednesday vs. Radnor and Upper Darby, at Upper Darby. See you there!  Go Fords!
